Cleveland Crystals is the leading manufacturer of infrared ploarization control components and is the free world's principal supplier of CdS and CdSe crystals for infrared waveplates and birefringent filters. We also offer MgF2, AgGaS2 and other crystals to extend our component capabilities.
From chemicals to components, we are the only U.S. company which controls the entire manufacturing process using these materials. This includes crystal growth, fabrication, polishing, coatings, class 100 cleanroom assembly using housings of our own manufacture, and final test or optional certification. This puts us in a unique position to assure product quality and customer support.
Our most popular waveplates are the traditional birefringent "a" plates (optic axis coplanar with polished faces), including multiorder and net zero order (double plate) versions of the Soleil-Babinet Compensator (SBC). We also offer "c" plates and intermediate designs, including zero-order single plates and the novel model XPT tilt-tunable waveplate. With the exception of the SBC, all versions of the "a" plate can be mounted in our 2" diameter utility mount (model XP) or our series RS housings, which provide economical 360 degree crystal rotation for convenient proportioning of the two transmitted linear polarization components (e-ray and o-ray). The series RS housings also permit azimuthal adjustment for controlling back-reflections.
We can provide AR coatings to enhance transmission and reduce annoying etalon effects, even in dual wavelength or achromatic designs.
Contact us today and ask for information on all of our polarization control products, including our models XPT and SBC tunable waveplates and the model IR-1600 vis-25micron wideband polarizer. .
